(March 18, 2020) Sacramento, CA … Saturday’s NARC King of the West Sprint Car scheduled show at the Stockton Dirt Track has been postponed due to ongoing COVID-19 virus safety concerns.  The event was intended to salute legendary Northern Auto Racing Club champion LeRoy Van Conett of Galt.

With the volatile situation of the global pandemic, rescheduling a new date is not even remotely possible at this time.

Governor Gavin Newsom implemented a lock down of public gatherings at State Fairground facilities for approximately eight weeks throwing all local racing schedules into turmoil.   If that holds true, the NARC King of the West season opener could possibly be the Peter Murphy Classic at Tulare on May 16th.

The NARC King of the West Racing Series will continue to monitor the CDC and government recommendations before considering rescheduling or participating in any racing event.

“We totally agree that these are sad days for motorsports and sports in general,” said Jim Allen, series GM.  “Unfortunately, this pandemic takes precedent over everything in our normal life until it gets resolved.”
