Corey Day and Justin Sanders mounted several open-wheel attacks on eventual Howard Kaeding Classic winner Shane Golobic. Day and Golobic made contact fighting for the lead, and Day ended up with a flat right rear tire. Sanders finished a solid second. Day was 12th.

Safety equipment came through when we really needed it last night. Just ask Justyn Cox, who was involved in a multi-car crash on the first lap of the Howard Kaeding Classic feature. His helmet absorbed a severe blow and cracked. Justyn's head is fine, and the helmet is now junk.

Shane Golobic passed Tim Kaeding on the tenth lap of the Howard Kaeding Classic and held off Corey Day and Justin Sanders to score his 15th NARC career win. That puts him in a tenth-place tie with Tim Green on the all-time list.
