(3/13/23) Sacramento, CA … Torrential rain storms in California racked up yet another casualty in the form of the March 18th NARC 410 Sprint Car Series season opener at Chico. Northern California has been pounded with continuous storm systems, resulting in flooding at many dirt track racing venues including Silver Dollar Speedway.
Unfortunately, the $6000 to win Mini-Gold Cup will not be rescheduled due to a lack of open and non-conflicting dates.
“It is very disappointing that we had to cancel the Mini-Gold Cup,” said promoter Brad Sweet of SLC Promotions. “We’ve been working really hard to make this show happen and were really looking forward to it. Although there is some clearing later this week, it’s supposed to rain over the weekend again and we didn’t want to drag out the process.”
The NARC sprint cars will make only one other appearance at Chico this season and that is the David Tarter Memorial on May 6th.
The 63-annual Northern Auto Racing Club sprint car season is now scheduled to take place on April 1st with the Fourth Annual Asparagus Cup at the Stockton Dirt Track. The campaign will not feature 23 racing events at 15 different tracks.
