(10/18/20) Sacramento, CA … The Northern Auto Racing Club and King of the West Racing Series announced it will award the Billy Albini Mechanic of the Year Award at the November 7th season finale at the Stockton Dirt Track.  The perpetual award honors the late great crew chief Billy Albini and recognizes one of the more unheralded positions in sprint car racing.  The award celebrates and acknowledges the mechanical ability and leadership skills needed to drive a successful sprint car team and the ability to assist others in the pit area.

“Even though 2020 was a short year as far as racing goes due to the coronavirus pandemic, we have many great mechanics that need to be recognized for their dedication and hard work,” said series Director of Competition Mike Andreetta.  “We plan to honor another deserving individual at Stockton.”

Mark Bristow earned the inaugural Billy Albini Mechanical of the Year Award last year.  The unique trophy, which is best recognized by its gold-plated wrench, comes with a $1000 cash award and a ring.  Andreetta and Chris Good are sponsoring the award.
