(2/23/19) Sacramento, CA … The King of the West-NARC 410 winged sprint car series announced today that the sanctioning body will be providing a medical insurance policy to drivers chasing championship points this season. The policy, issued through K&K Insurance, is an excess medical policy which would cover up to $100,000 in medical expenses. The policy is also provided to full-time King of the West-NARC officials.
To be eligible, drivers must hold a current 2019 KWS-NARC membership and commit to racing the entire 20-race campaign. Enrollment will take place at the first race of the season on March 2nd at the Stockton Dirt Track. The season ends on November 2nd.
“Even with all of the safety improvements made to sprint cars, open wheel racing is still a dangerous sport,” said Jim Allen, KWS-NARC Business Manager. “No driver ever plans on getting hurt, or are really prepared for the sheer medical cost burden after a serious injury. The goal of this policy is to help provide an additional medical safety net to supplement their existing insurance for a worst case scenario.”
