(8/22/17) … The King of the West-NARC sprint car series plans to help raise money for injured Petaluma Speedway Pit Steward Margaret Lingron at their racing event on Saturday (August 26th).  Margaret, fondly nicknamed “Track Mom” by Petaluma Speedway racing teams, was seriously injured in a freak accident at the track on July 29th.  She sustained a broken tailbone, a shattered pelvis, broken ribs and nose, plus a long list of other injuries when she was pinned underneath a tractor tire.  She faces a very long recovery process.

KWS-NARC drivers will be doing a “helmet pass” through the grandstands to collect donations.  In addition, there will be a special 50/50 drawing with proceeds benefitting Margaret and her family.

“Margaret is an institution at Petaluma Speedway,” said KWS-NARC Business Manager Jim Allen.  “She is the glue that ties everything together at that track and we always hate when a member of the racing community gets injured.  The racing community is a very close-knit family and has always been very generous when it comes to supporting one of its own.  We hope that we can show Margaret and the Lingron family some love with some financial support on Saturday.”

Margaret’s husband Ron, is the track announcer at Petaluma.
