The King of the West-NARC Sprint Car Series and Antioch Speedway announced today that the racing event scheduled for Saturday, August 5th at the track has been cancelled.  It will not be rescheduled this season.

“A whole lot of factors have come into play,” said promoter John Soares.  “It was a mutual decision between both parties to cancel the show and begin working on scheduling a successful 2018 event.”

“We never like losing a racing event from our schedule,” said KWS-NARC Business Manager Jim Allen, “but it’s the right thing to do.  This will turn out to be a positive, as many loyal open wheel enthusiasts and teams have expressed an interest to head to the midwest for the 360 and 410 Knoxville Nationals.”

The next event on the King of the West schedule is now August 26th at Petaluma Speedway.

The traveling sprint car series is considering adding a “make-up” event later in the season barring any scheduling conflicts with other organizations.
